The National Hairdresser’s Day is officially celebrated in Brazil on January 19th. It pays homage not only to hairdressers, but also to barbers, make-up artists, manicurists, estheticians, and related professionals.
Before the date was made official, many professionals celebrated on September 3rd, at the suggestion of the National Hairdressers’ Federation. Another date announced in some parts of the country is November 3rd: the day of the death of St. Martin de Porres (known as the patron saint of hairdressers).
